Alone. You work directly with the person writing the code, which means nothing is lost in translation and there is no account manager between you and the build. The trade is capacity — I take on a limited number of projects at a time.

Fixed price for well-defined scopes, which suits most projects and forces the scope conversation upfront where it belongs. Hourly for ongoing or exploratory work. Payments are staged against deliverables rather than taken upfront.

You do, in writing, and it lives in a repository under your account from day one. You should never be in a position where changing developer means losing your product.

Handover includes documentation, credentials and deployment instructions so another developer could pick it up. If you want ongoing support I offer maintenance arrangements, but you are not locked into one.

Yes, and it is common. It usually starts with a short audit so the work is based on what the system actually does rather than what the documentation claims it does.
