What you are trying to build, roughly when you need it, and your budget range if you have one. That is enough for me to tell you honestly whether I am a good fit. Withholding the budget tends to waste both our time, because it produces proposals aimed at the wrong target.
No. The first conversation is to work out whether the project is a fit and whether I am the right person for it. If the honest answer is that you need something different from what I do, I will say so.
Get in touch anyway. Small, well-defined projects are often the most satisfying to build, and if it is genuinely too small to justify my rate I will usually be able to point you somewhere sensible.
