A lot of first builds from UP are for price-sensitive users on mid-range Android phones and patchy connections. That should shape technical decisions from day one — app size, offline behaviour and data usage matter more here than in a Bengaluru-facing product.

A lot of UP builds serve users who are new to apps entirely, on mid-range Android over connections that drop. That is a harder design problem than a metro product, not a diluted one, and it changes the technical decisions from the first day.
The first job on these projects is usually removing features. A founder arrives with a full vision and limited runway; my most useful early contribution is arguing for one workflow built properly that real users can complete unaided.
A genuine first version — auth, one workflow, admin panel — starts at ₹3–5 lakh. Below ₹2 lakh you are buying a prototype, and I would rather say that than take the money.
There is no team behind me and nothing is subcontracted. The person you scope the project with is the person writing the code, which removes an entire category of translation loss. The trade is capacity — I take a small number of projects at a time, and I will tell you if I cannot start when you need to.
The repository lives under your account and the cloud infrastructure is provisioned in yours. You should never be in a position where changing developer means losing your product. Handover documentation is part of the work rather than something negotiated at the end.
A deposit to start, then payments tied to milestones you can see working in a staging environment. Never the full amount upfront in either direction. If a project stops early, you keep everything built to that point.
Every project gets a written scope split into launch and later, with an explicit not-included list. That second list prevents most disputes, because disagreement almost always comes from an assumption nobody wrote down.
With the smallest version that a real user would pay for, not the full vision. Most first builds fail from scope, not from technology. I would rather talk you out of half your feature list than take money to build it.
Yes. If your users are typing in Hindi or mixing Hindi and English, that affects search, input handling and AI features — it is worth designing for rather than retrofitting.
